Why we built LMS differently.
A small, family-owned Sacramento garage door company. No national call center. No commissioned salespeople. No private-equity ownership. Just the people on this page — and the techs you'll actually meet in your driveway.
The garage door industry has a problem.
Over the last decade, large private-equity-backed chains have been quietly buying up local garage door companies across the country. The truck still has a local name on the side. The phone number still looks local. But the company is now owned out-of-state, calls route through a national dispatch center, and technicians work on commission to upsell whatever they can. Homeowners end up paying two or three times what a job should cost — pressured into full door replacements when a $300 spring repair would have done the same thing.
LMS was built to be the opposite of all of that. One real Sacramento shop. One technician at your door. One price, written down before any work starts. The reason is simple: we believe real customer service still matters, and we want to take care of our neighbors the way we'd want our own family taken care of.
One truck. One driveway at a time.
2018Jordan Loder founded LMS Garage Doors out of Citrus Heights with one truck, one phone, and a clear bet: that homeowners in Sacramento were ready for a garage door company that wouldn't try to upsell them on the doorstep.
In the early days it was just Jordan and Christian — two people, one truck, running every call together. Word-of-mouth did most of the marketing. A neighbor would watch the LMS truck park next door for an hour and leave without a $4,000 quote attached, then call the next time their own door broke.
The team has grown slowly and deliberately since — only as fast as we could find people who shared the same approach. Sam came on as a partner to lead the residential side, bringing 30+ years of home-service experience with him. Alyssa took over the office line so calls would always reach a real person instead of a recording. Today LMS is still small on purpose — every truck in the field is staffed by an owner or someone whose name appears on this page.
We just believe real customer service still matters. That's the whole reason this company exists.
The people behind the trucks.
A small crew on purpose. Whoever picks up your call, whoever shows up in your driveway — their name is on this page.
Jordan
Founded LMS in 2018 and still runs calls himself. The buck stops with Jordan on every job — if you ever have a problem with how we handled something, his is the number to call.
Sam
30+ years in the home-service industry. Sam has done a little of everything across the trades and now brings all of that experience to bear on garage doors. Leads the residential side at LMS.
Christian
One of the originals — has been running calls alongside Jordan since the very first truck went out in 2018. Leads the commercial side at LMS: overhead doors, gate operators, dock equipment, and service contracts.
Alyssa
The person who actually answers the phone when you call LMS. Books appointments, gives ballpark pricing, and gets a tech on the way. Knows every customer file by name — there's no call center, just Alyssa.
The way we work is the whole point.
Family-owned isn't a tagline — it's the reason every one of these things is possible in the first place.
A real person, every call.
You'll talk to Alyssa or whoever's at the shop — not a dispatch center six states away. We can usually ballpark the job before we send a truck.
No sales staff. Only techs.
The person in your driveway is the person doing the work. They aren't on commission to upsell you on a door replacement when a $300 spring will fix it.
One quote. One price.
Written down before any work starts. No "while-we're-here" surprises on the invoice, and a 90-day workmanship warranty on every job.
