Our commitment
LMS Garage Doors, LLC is committed to making our website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We treat accessibility as a continuing responsibility, not a one-time task. We recognize the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and California's Unruh Civil Rights Act, and we work to ensure our digital experience matches the welcome we give people who walk into our shop.
Standard we follow
Our goal is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. WCAG 2.1 AA is the standard most commonly cited under ADA Title III enforcement and California disability rights law.
What we've done so far
We've designed and built lmsgaragedoors.com with accessibility in mind. Specifically:
- Semantic HTML — proper headings, landmarks (header, nav, main, footer), lists, and labels so screen readers can navigate the page logically.
- Keyboard navigation — every interactive element (links, buttons, form fields, the FAQ accordion) is reachable and operable with a keyboard alone, with visible focus indicators.
- Color contrast — body text and UI elements meet or exceed WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
- Image alternatives — meaningful images have descriptive alt text. Decorative images are marked so screen readers can skip them.
- Responsive design — the site works at standard browser zoom levels up to 200% and on small mobile screens without horizontal scrolling.
- Tap-friendly targets — buttons and links on the mobile site have a minimum 44×44 pixel tap area.
- Plain language — we write the way we talk, in clear English. Industry jargon is explained when used.
- No auto-playing audio or motion that blocks reading. The hero photo crossfade respects the user's
prefers-reduced-motionpreference where applicable.
Known limitations
Accessibility is an ongoing commitment, and we know there are areas where we can do better. Currently:
- Our footer includes a Google Maps embed. The embed is provided by Google and its accessibility is governed by Google's own work; we cannot directly modify its keyboard or screen-reader behavior.
- Some third-party tools we may use (e.g., online scheduling, payment forms) inherit the accessibility characteristics of the providers we integrate with. We choose providers with accessibility commitments, but we don't control their code.
- If you encounter content (such as photos uploaded with reviews) that lacks an adequate text alternative, please tell us — we'll fix it.
